IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 Universal Database V8.1 for z/OS

The IBM Certified Database Administrator is the lead database administrator (DBA) for the DB2 UDB Version 8.1 product for the z/OS operating system. This individual has significant experience as a DBA and extensive knowledge of the DB2 Universal Database, specifically the new features and functionality related to Version 8.1. This specialist is capable of performing the intermediate to advanced tasks related to database design and implementation, operation and recovery, security and auditing, performance, and installation and migration specific to the z/OS operating system.

To attain the IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 Universal Database V8.1 for z/OS certification, candidates must pass 2 tests or be certified as an IBM Certified Solutions Expert - DB2 Uniiversal Database V7.1 Database Administration for UNIX, Windows and OS/2 and pass Test 702:

* Test 700, IBM DB2 UDB Version 8 Family Fundamentals
OR
Test 512, IBM DB2 UDB V7.1 Family Fundamentals
* Test 702, IBM DB2 UDB Version 8 for z/OS Database Administration

IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 UDB V8.1 for Linux, UNIX and Windows

To attain the IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 UDB V8.1 for Linux, UNIX and Windows certification, candidates must either pass 2 tests or be certified as an IBM Certified Solutions Expert - DB2 Universal Database V7.1 Database Administration for UNIX, Windows and OS/2 and pass 1 test.

* Test 700, IBM DB2 UDB Version 8 Family Fundamentals
OR
Test 512, IBM DB2 UDB V7.1 Family Fundamentals
* Test 702, IBM DB2 UDB Version 8 for z/OS Database Administration

 

IBM Certified Database Associate – DB2 Universal Database V8.1 Family

This Database Associate is an entry level DBA or a user of any of the DB2 family of products. This individual is knowledgeable about the fundamental concepts of DB2 Universal Database V8 through either hands on experience or formal and informal education. The database associate should have an in-depth knowledge of the basic to intermediate tasks required in day-to-day administration, basic SQL (Structured Query Language), understand how DB2 Universal Database V8.1 is packaged and installed, understand how to create databases and database objects, and have a basic knowledge of database security and transaction isolation.

Please note this certification is also applicable for DB2 UDB for iSeries V5R2.

To attain the IBM Certified Database Associate – DB2 Universal Database V8.1 Family certification, candidates must pass 1 test: Exam 700, DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals.
